This is a Yamaha Custom Satin Finish model student trumpet!  It has just been serviced and is ready for band, ready to play.  The custom satin finish has just been applied -- a one-of-kind effect which can cost $125-250 to apply depending on the shop you take your own trumpet to.

But, before we apply the finish, we completely service these fine gently used student trumpets which includes ultrasonic cleaning, valve and slide check for proper fit, replacement of pads and corks as needed, removal of all accessible dents and dings and reassembly with Ultra-Pure valve oil and lube -- the best lubricants on the planet -- see here! 

The photo below shows those areas highlighted which are shiny and the rest of the instrument is satin finish.  The entire trumpet is sprayed with clear lacquer to retain is beautiful looks.

A Note about Playability of This Trumpet

Two professional trumpets players were in our area recently and wanted to try out some trumpets.  They tried Mt. Vernon Bachs, Benges, Martin Committees, Bessons and a few others.  When they were done trying out these Pro horns, I said, "Now, I have a special one I'd like you to try - a custom horn."

Each one looked this one over and ohh'd and ahh'd about the custom finish.  "Looks like a Monette or a custom Lawler" one of them remarked because of the satin finish with shiny overtones. 

Each then played it and both remarked that it was a "wide open" horn that plays great!  In fact, one of them wanted to buy it but I said it was on Ebay right now and not for sale.  They both wanted me to build them a horn like this -- JUST like this.  They said, "Don't change a thing."

When I told them it was a Yamaha student horn, they couldn't believe it.  The large 5" bell, the custom finish and the big open sound totally blew them away.  You won't find many better playing pro horns than this custom Yamaha.
