Visit with St. Louis Woodwind & Brass - March 2009

We recently acquired a Ferree's Z60 Dent Machine and wanted to get some expert advice on how to use the machine effectively.  Knowing the exceptional work done by Bill Meyers and his brass crew at St. Louis Woodwind & Brass Instrument Repair, we called Bill and asked if he would mind showing us some tips and tricks using the machine on trumpets and cornets and he said, "Sure, we'd love to have you come and visit!"  So, we packed our bags during Spring Break time here and traveled south to St. Louis.  Here are some photos from the trip.  If you're ever in the St. Louis area and want something fixed/tweaked/analyzed, this is THE place --- just off I-270 on the north side.

Left - Bill works on trigger trombone -- Right - We show Brian the horn to practice on
( this is my horn -- the LA Olds Studio previously held together with shoestring and coat hanger wire -- great player by the way inspite of it's dented condition and special "floating" leadpipe/tuning slide assembly )
