Getzen Eterna Severinsen Model
Vintage Pro Horn

This is a Getzen Eterna Severinsen model vintage Professional trumpet!  This is one of the very early Severinsen models in lacquer as, after a period of time, we only find silver-plated Severinsen models.  On Getzen's website, they indicate that Carl "Doc" Severinsen helped them develop this line in 1962 - which closely corresponds with the serial number of SK47xx.  The bore as measured at the 2nd slide is 0.460".

The horn was ultrasonically cleaned today and the leadpipe swabbed at the same time.  All parts looked original and the horn doesn't appear to have had any repairs before.

The valves look excellent, have a short throw and are very fast on this horn.  The slides move as they should.  An added bonus is an extra tuning slide, a Severinsen 0.460" slide along with the standard 0.458" - and a note from Doc Severinsen regarding the use of these slides.  See which one gives you that extra edge!

Other things to note are:

  1. The lacquer is around 30-40% with most of it gone

  2. The brass looks good and no rot is seen anywhere on it

  3. Slides have nickel-silver inner tubes to help protect from rot over time

  4. The small nib on the 2nd slide is missing and of a different style than replacements we have

  5. There is one small dent on the bell bow on the inside which is very small - other than that, no dents

  6. New felts and corks were installed as needed

The trumpet plays great!  Included with the trumpet are:

  • Getzen Eterna Severinsen vintage professional trumpet

  • Getzen deluxe hard case  in nice shape (very heavy and sturdy with flap inside to hold music and other papers - case latches both work - no keys)

  • optional and additional Getzen Severinsen 0.460" tuning slide

  • Getzen deluxe model ML mouthpiece in nice shape
